Health logistics

As a future and innovative area of growth, the health sector in Niedersachsen, with its workforce of 385,000 employees, and annual gross value added of approx. 14 billion euro, represents an important industry. This means that one in eight jobs in Niedersachsen is attributable to the healthcare sector.

Research for health

Around 15 per cent of employees are engaged in research and development. On average, a research-based, industry-specific company invests about nine per cent of its turnover in research and development. Niedersachsen has 200 hospitals equipped with some 45,000 beds.
